Good Shepherd Sunday School’s 2008 Lenten Service Project

Posted in Sunday School, Uncategorized at 12:20 pm by Miss Michelle

Exciting news everyone…… it’s time for our annual Lenten Service Project! As always, we have fun things planned to do together in an effort to raise money to help others.

This year our project will be two-fold. We will seek pledges from the congregation in exchange for our Service Saturdays, as well as host a Green Market at church. The money raised through these services will go to local Outreach projects in Palm Beach and Martin counties. We will also collect non-perishable food items that will be donated to local food banks.

The second part of our project will be our personal Offering Boxes, or tithes. The money that we raise through our own stewardship will go directly toward our Good Shepherd Church faith challenge. The needs of our parish are immediate and very real. My hope is that in some small way our Sunday School Ministry can help our church to meet its goal by March 23rd, to overcome the financial shortage we face this year.

We will provide a service each Saturday beginning February 16th and ending March 15th. Please check the Sunday School calendar to see what activity is planned each Saturday. Additional info will be sent home via Sunday School classes as well as through email updates. Our project will run through the duration of Lent. We will kick it off on Sunday, February 10th – the first Sunday of Lent. Offering boxes should be turned in by Easter Sunday, but no earlier than Palm Sunday, please keep filling them up throughout Lent!

I’m looking forward to another great Lent Project with everyone this year. Last year we raised over $5,000 for Heifer Project International. I’m confident that we can do it again this year to help those within our own community who need our help.

Please contact me if you would like to help with coordinating a Saturday Service day.

Thank you and see you in Sunday School!

Did anyone miss me?!

Posted in Sunday School, Uncategorized at 12:48 pm by Miss Michelle

My apologies for being away from this page for so long! I was sooo busy with our Christmas Pageant, and the holidays with my family, and getting ready for our 2008 Lenten Service Project, etc…, but I’m back! And I’m very excited about our upcoming Lent Project! This year the money we raise, with “thankful hearts”, will benefit Outreach projects right here in Palm Beach County. Additional info will be posted in the weeks to come.

Also, if you know anyone who is interested in helping out in our Nursery, please have them contact me at 561-222-7712.

Thank you.

Blessings,

What a great month it is!

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:39 pm by Miss Michelle

November has been a great, fun-filled month so far!

Fall Fest 2007 was a huge success! We had so much fun and it was all thanks to the many volunteers who made it possible – thank you all. And, our Raffle Baskets were a big hit as always. Many thanks go out for the wonderful donations that made such beautiful baskets a reality.

Tequesta celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary with a Golden Parade. Good Shepherd Church and School participated with about 40 people marching, strolling, biking and scootering while passing out nearly 400 postcards and candy to invite our community to join us at Good Shepherd for our Holiday Services! What a magnificent thing.

Our first Family Fun Night at Jupiter Lanes was a blast! We had about 30 people come to bowl. There was fierce competition, great food, and lots of FUN! The best part was getting to hang out together and enjoy each other’s company. The kids love playing together and the grown-ups get to enjoy getting to know one another a little better. If you weren’t able to make it this time, I encourage you to join us next time!

We have many more wonderful things happening in December, so keep checking back often for updates and information.

I wish everyone a very Happy and Blessed safe Thanksgiving holiday.

I am extremely grateful for the many blessings I have received in my life and especially here at Good Shepherd. Thank you.

With love,

Michelle Pariseleti

Dear Friends,

First of all, let me say a GIANT “Thank You!” to everyone who was able to contribute their goods, their time and their appetites this past Sunday for our Sunday School Halloween Bake Sale!! It was a HUGE success! We raised just over $200 dollars which goes directly into our Sunday School funds!! Because of the new classes this year we really needed that extra money right now to see us through the end of the year – so thank you all!

On another note…

I’m thrilled to announce we have a ‘Sunday School Family Fun Night’ planned for anyone who is able to participate!   Many Thanks to one of our moms, Jeanette, for planning and organizing a Bowling Night for us and for anyone else who you’d like to invite.

**Please open the attached flier for the details and important R.S.V.P. information.**  I hope that this can grow to become a tradition of fun family fellowship for us to share!

Thank you again for your continued support!   See you in Sunday School ~

Many Blessings,   Michelle Pariseleti

Tidings October 2007

Posted in Tidings at 9:25 am by Miss Michelle

Thank you to everyone who came to the Time & Talent Fair and visited our Sunday School and VBS tables! And a special thanks to those of you who signed up to help with our special events this year.
Remember – Fall Fest is coming up soon – November 3rd to be exact! The children’s area still needs lots of volunteers! Help is needed to supervise the inflatables, run the games, help with crafts, etc…  I will have sign up sheets available to volunteer for a block of time.
Also, if you know any teen-aged groups looking for service/volunteer credit, such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc., please have them contact me directly. Fall Fest is a great way to earn volunteer credit and have lots of fun at the same time!
I’m happy to say that the Sunday School year is off to a great start again! Welcome to all our families who have registered so far. I also want to say a special “Thank You” to our teachers this year. We were fortunate enough to add an additional class this year and change the structure of the grade levels. This was a much needed change and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many. Especially – Laura Schuppert, Leah Vincent, Heather Posey, Anne Rhody and Julie-Bird Winchester! Thank you so much for your dedication and your constant support. Also, a great big “Thank You” goes to Beth Long who has volunteered to lead our Children’s Music Ministry! I’m very happy to be able to bring back this special part of our Children’s Sunday School Program.
Don’t forget to visit the Sunday School Page of our Church website for continuing updates and information. Go to www.GoodShepOnline.org and click on Sunday School.

See you in Sunday School!

Sunday School Bake Sale E-mail

Posted in E-mails sent, Sunday School, Uncategorized at 9:12 am by Miss Michelle

A copy of the e-mail sent Oct. 12, 2007 regarding Sunday School Bake Sale

Hello everyone!

Well, it’s definately Fall…. maybe we can’t tell by the weather outside, but the fact that Sunday School is getting so busy is a good indicator!  We have lots of fun things going on over the next few months and I will keep you up to date via e-mail, website and flyers at church on Sundays. Please don’t feel like you have to do everything, just know that I will keep you informed so that no one is left out of the loop!  Having said that… because we do have a lot happening, and we are approaching the end of the year – we are also reaching the end of our Sunday School budget! I thought it would be great if Sunday School held our own Bake Sale to raise some money for our program.  I’ve planned a date of October 21st to try it out. It can be themed for Halloween to make it more fun. ( We can’t do the 28th because that is the day of Good Shep’s 50th Anniversary brunch ). But we can still celebrate the Halloween season by bringing in Halloween themed baked items, or just good old-fashioned baked goods. Kids (and adults) that would like to bring their Halloween costumes to wear during the Bake Sale are welcomed and encouraged to do so!! (Chances are very good that Miss Michelle will be dressed up!!!)

So, please mark your calendars for Sunday, October 21. Bring in your favorite fresh baked goodies, individually wrapped for sale. If you can bring them by 8:45 am to sell after the early service, great! If you can’t make it that early, just bring them at your usual time and we will keep it for after the second service.    Again, thank you for all you do! I will be sending out additonal e-mails very soon about other upcoming events that you may want to participate in. I hope you don’t feel bombarded by me! There’s just so much going on, and I don’t want to leave anyone out! If you have questions or feedback for me, please feel free to call or email me anytime. I always appreciate your input!

Blessings to you always,

There will be several dates per year when the children are invited to the Church Service to worship with their families. We will not meet for Sunday School classes on these dates. The Children’s Music Ministry will perform during these special worship services.
