Some Common Questions;

Q: When is it held?
A: Good Shepherd Coffee House is held on the 3rd Friday of every month (check the website,
due to conflicts we may have to move to the 4th) see the map to the left for directions.

Q: What time should I get there?
A: We start all ages Jam around 7:00pm, this is a time for children as well as adults to get up
and play music together. Dinner will be available starting at 6pm, so come hungry. We start
sign ups for the Open Mic starting at 7:00pm, slots fill up quickly so it is good to get there
early. The Open Mic will start between 7:30 and 8:00pm depending on how many performers
we have, we will make every effort to get everyone up at least once so our end time will vary.

Q: How much time will I have?
A: Generally 15 minutes or 3 songs, once everyone has performed we will put the names of
those wanting to perform again in a hat or informal groups will form and we will all start jamming.

Q: What if I don't have 3 songs or 15 minutes worth of material?
A: We have a Mic set up for just that purpose, we would love to have you play your song, read
your poem or tell a joke while we set up the next performer on the stage.

Q: What can I play?
A: Whatever you want that would be acceptable for children to listen too. You can also recite
your poetry or tell jokes as well.

Q: What if I don't have a guitar?
A: Email Erik, he will let you borrow one. We also have a Grand piano, electric bass, mandolin
as well as conga and djembe drums to use.

Q: What if i don't have a pickup on my guitar (mandolin, bass or banjo)?
A: Let us know when you sign up or email Erik, we will set up instrument microphones for you
to play through.

Q: Can I bring my own direct boxes, pedals and microphones?
A: We have direct boxes going into our sound board, we also have a number of Sure 58 and
57 microphones as well as phantom power out of the board. If you would like to use your own
effects pedals, direct boxes or microphones, all we ask is that you come early so we can sound
check them through our board. There is no guarentee that we will be able to acomodate you,
but we will try. Email Erik with any special requests or questions.

Q: Where do the donations go?
A: We are using the money raised to help start a childrens/youth music program as well as
towards other children's and youth programs at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tequesta.

Q: How else can I help?
A: This event is totally run by volunteers so any help is appreciated, ways to help are;
  • Bring some food, beer or wine for the potluck dinner, contact Michelle (on the facebook
page or michellepariseleti@yahoo.com) to see what is needed that month.
  • Help set up (we are there by 5pm), help serve food, help clean up.
  • Ask businesses you know for a donation towards our raffle for that nights performers.
  • Bring a friend
